The experiments were conducted with the aim of optimizing the in vitro culture of bovine embryos in reduced group, for that it was investigated the effect of different growth factors in the development and quality of bovine embryos produced in vitro in reduced group supplemented to the semidefine medium SOFaaci plus BSA. In experiment 1, we assessed the rates of blastocysts from in vitro produced embryos after supplementation with IGF-I, EGF, and TGF-alpha, at a concentration of 10ng per mL. In Experiment 2, we evaluated the development and quality in terms of numbers of cells and apoptotic index (using TUNEL technique) of the embryos produced in vitro in reduced group after supplementation with EGF and EGF plus IGF_I. As results of the experiments, the control group showed a significantly higher rates of embryo development to blastocyst than the reduced control group. The embryo development rates of the groups supplemented with IGF-I and EGF did not differ significantly compared with reduced control culture. The EGF-supplemented group showed no difference with the control group. In the second experiment, after supplementation of growth factors in combination EGF plus IGF-I, the embryos showed a significantly higher blastocyst development rates and a lower apoptotic index compared with reduced control group. The study also found an increased number of cells on day 7 and in turn a lower apoptotic index. In conclusion, we successfully increased the blastocyst rate and embryo quality, in the in vitro culture in reduced group through supplementation of IGF-I and EGF
