We regard to the duration of winter pruning, the influence of tree age and planting density in a planting with three plum cultivars (cvs Stanley, Čačanska Rodna and Čačanska Lepotica) was studied. The results suggested that the fewest number of hours per arable land required for carrying out winter pruning was in three-year old cv Čačanska Lepotica. The spacing was 5x5 m (11.4 h/ha). Fourteen-year old cv Čačanska Rodna planted at 5x3.5 m required the greatest number of hours per arable land (11 h/ha). If, besides minimal pruning, branching is performed in young three-years trees, the cost will be increased for 4.4 times (cv Čačanska Lepotica).
