For this research we selected one dominant tree of each species from the naturally established pine stands in the locality of mountain Zlatibor (Serbia). This locality is particularly interesting because in it Scots pine and Austrian pine create a specific association Pinetum nigrae - silvestris Pav. The change of properties was monitored at two meters of stem height. Mechanical properties of wood were analysed on the part of the stem between the heights of 1.3 and 3.3 m. The research results were systemized and shown in tables. In the aim of determining the impact of these tree species on their properties a comparative analysis of the obtained results was performed per cross sections and cumulatively.
