The topics of this research were few: to determine the level of tick infection with pathogen genospecies of Borrelia burgdorferi in selected locations, to determine the clinical symptoms of Lyme disease in dogs from selected locations, to overlook the clinical symptoms or manifestation of Lyme disease in dogs after the natural and experimental infections, the significance of laboratory diagnostic methods for Lyme disease in dogs and finally to determine the basic criteria in diagnostic of Lyme disease. The methods used in the research were the following: field research, laboratory diagnostic and experimental research with artificial infection. The materials used for the research were ticks and dogs with experimental and natural infection and also healthy dogs from the selected locations. The results and conclusions that came out of the research are related to the existence and presence of B. burgdorferi. In Ixodes ricinus ticks from selected locations, the average number of infected ticks is 22.12% for the last three years and in 2008, this number was 23.8% of infected ticks. The average value of entomologic risk index for Lyme disease was determined and in the selected regions it was 0.033, while in the region of Novi Sad (Serbia) with surrounding, entomologic risk index was 0.053.
