This paper presents the first data on the damage by the sandhill snail, Theba pisana (Müller) in the territory of Montenegro. A great population density and destructive activity together has significantly inhibited production in the nursery of fruit trees and ornamental plants near Ulcinj during the summer 2010th. There are 23 ornamental and 17 fruit species in the nursery. For every plant species the level of infestation has been determined, the presence of direct damage from feeding, as well as damage from excessive accumulation of snails on green plant organs (chlorosis). Implemented control measures in the nursery have been analyzed. This paper also presents a literature review related to bioecology of T. pisana, control techniques, as well as direct recommendations for the implementation of control in the future.
