This paper presents the results of sugar beet production on selected private farms in Vojvodina, Serbia. Farmers aim at production with optimal costs and adequate quality of products. The analysis of the economic results of sugar beet production is based on determining total production costs, revenue and financial results. The average cost on the selected farms was 2.41 RSD/kg and it was achieved with the yield of 50.613 kg/ha. It is possible to make a profit of 37.162 RSD/ha taking into account the average selling price of 3.00 RSD/kg. Production efficiency of sugar beet is relatively small, because costs take 80.00 RSD out of 100.00 RSD of revenue. The results showed significant decrease of sugar beet production competitiveness as compared to the production of other field crops, due to the fact that prices of inputs grow faster than price of sugar beet root, which leads to deteriorated parity of this agricultural product.
