Acorn yield is often significantly reduced by insects which feed on acorn. Among the insects feeding on acorn, the greatest pest is oak weevil, Curculio glandium. This species has been insufficiently researched in Serbia, especially as the pest of common oak acorn, so it is necessary to study in greater detail its main morphological features and the most important elements of its life cycle. The research was performed in a common oak seed orchard at the locality Banov Brod in FE Sremska Mitrovica (Serbia) and by growing in laboratory conditions. This paper presents the results of the study of morphological characters of different development stages of oak weevil, as well as of its life cycle.
