Fish autolysates (FA) are tendered to use as an alternative product to forage fish meal (FM). Autolysis of small- sized fish raw material and a liquid complex of proteolytic enzymes (1:1) is made for 2.0-2.5 hours at 50-55 deg C. A chemical composition of FA, a content of P and Ca in them and chemical properties of fat are determined. It is shown that FA differ from FM on a lighter color, a higher (by 34-40%) protein content and do not differ on a content of P and Ca. The protein content of FA is 67.0-69.3%, the one of nitrogen-free extractive compounds is 23.4-27.5% (of fish meal 32.9%), of fat 7.3%, salt 0.7 - 0.8%. FA and FM have almost identical gross energy value, but the energy and protein ratio of FA increases the feed nutritional value and availability of their protein component. Digestibility of FM compared with FA is lower due to higher (up to 5%) salt content. During the whole period of FA storage (12 months) no significant changes of acid and peroxide numbers has been noted. It is concluded that FA can be used as a source of protein component of complete feeds for poultry.
