Efficacy of the fungicide Pilarben 50 % WP, a new formulation of benomyl, an already recommended fungicide for the control of powdery mildew caused by Sphaerotheca fuliginea on snake cucumber (Cucumis sativus), was evaluated in a field experiment at the Gezira Research Farm. The three tested rates of Pilarben were outstandingly effective in reducing disease incidence and severity compared to the standard treatment that was less effective than the lower rate of Pilarben. The three tested rates significantly reduced powdery mildew incidence and severity compared to the untreated control. The three tested rates of Pilarben as well as the standard treatment significantly increased snake cucumber yield compared to the untreated control. The mean yield increases over the untreated control were 52, 80, 82 and 57 % in Pilarben treatments and the standard treatment, respectively
