Crude extracts from Trichoderma spp.TISTR 3167, KMC 5, SRS 4 and SCP III using four different solvents: hexane, ethyl acetate, butanol and methanol were tested against Aspergillus flavus IMI 242684 by paper disc diffusion method. The results showed that ethyl acetate was the best solvent. Ethyl acetate extracts from Trichoderma spp.TISTR 3167, KMC 5 and SRS 4 at 50 mg/ml could inhibit the growth of A. flavus IMI 242684 with the inhibition zone of 31.58, 31.12 and 30.82 millimeters, respectively.Trichoderma spp.SCP III did not show any inhibitory effect. When ethyl acetate extracts of Trichoderma spp. TISTR 3167, KMC 5 and SRS 4 at 50 mg/ml were further applied in peanut grains, the growths of A. flavus IMI 242684 were 1.60*10**(2), 1.89*10**(2) and 3.17*10**(2) CFU 1/g , respectively, and the amounts of aflatoxin B1 were 0.08, 0.10 and 0.17 micro g/g and B2 were 0.57, 0.23 and 0.29 micro g/g, respectively whereas the control was at 1.84x10**(11) CFU 1/g and the amount of aflatoxin B1 was 284.62 micro g/g and B2 was 163.76 micro g/g when peanut grains were incubated for 28 days at room temperature. The potential of three crude extracts from Trichoderma spp. TISTR 3167, KMC 5 and SRS 4 with ethylacetate were not significant (P GT=0.05).
