Brojnost populacije i reproduktivni prirast divlje svinje - Sus scrofa (Linnaeus, 1758) u Privredno-sportskom lovištu Bukovik

Economic and sports hunting-ground Bukovik occupies an area of 12 735.60 ha. The hunting-ground is irregular in shape and covers a wider area around the urban zone of Sarajevo, with altitude ranging from 483 to 1534 m. Hunting-production area designated for wild boar in the subject hunting-ground covers a total of 5763 ha. Field studies of population abundance and reproductive growth of wild boar in the economic and sports hunting-ground Bukovik lasted from March 2011 until March 2012. Two methods were used to estimate the population size: the method of relative abundance and method of biological activity of game. Total estimated number of wild boars in the economic and sports hunting-ground Bukovik amounted to 99 individuals. Absolute reproductive growth of wild boars in examined area was 24 individuals or 82.75% of the expected (reproductive) growth.
