Many researchers identified the positive effect of soil organic management techniques on the soil physical and chemical properties in organic cropping systems. The aim of this study is to identify the impact of the crops sequences, agricultural practices and green manure cover crops on the main soil physical properties of Chromic Luvisols, slightly eroded, under organic management. Field experiment has been conducted in the field experimental station of the ISSNP Suhodol, Sofia region over the period 2004-2009. Selected soil physical parameters soil structure, bulk density, soil penetration resistance, soil moisture dynamics were measured in the crop rotation: 1 rye Secale cereale L., 2 been Phaseolus vulgaris L., 3 peas Pisum sativum L. and rye mixture as a green manure cover crop-potato Solanum tuberosum L.. The results show that cover crops for green manure significantly decreased bulk density, increased total porosity and aggregates stability, especially in the soil layers 0-30 cm, while soil moisture content was characterized with higher variability depending on the soil layers and experimental year.
