2011
Valchovski, I., N. Pushkarov Institute of Soil Science, Sofia (Bulgaria)
The article summarized the application of different farming practices in multi-field experiments 10 years with crop rotation on various soil types. In the case, there are presented the results of control options, in which no fertilizer is applied during the many years of growing different crops. These yields can be taken as an indicator of the natural fertility of this soil type. Thus the natural fertility of soils can be distinguished and the influence of mineral fertilization reconsidered, which is an artificial upgrade of this natural fertility. These results may serve as a starting point of the expected yields from organic, farming, which has limited use of mineral fertilizers.
