Economic assessment of the use of biologically active substances for production of hay from spring forage pea was performed. The trial was carried out in 2007-2009 on the experimental field of IFC-Pleven with variety Pleven 4. Atonic - growth stimulant at the dose of 0.06 l/da, Маsterblend - combined foliar fertilizer 160 g/da and Confidor 70 WG - insecticide – 15 g/da applied alone and in combination were tested. Treatments were conducted once and twice at the stages of budding and flowering. The performed economic assessment showed that the twofold treatment with Masterblend at budding and flowering, providing a net income of 51.33 lv/da and a rate of profitability of 66.70%, was the most expedient. To protect the stands from sucking insect pests it is advisable to treat with the combination of Confidor and Masterblend at budding, for which the rate of profitability was 62.3%. With regard to the studied preparations - on average for the stages of application, the use of Masterblend - net income and rate of profitability of 31.3 and 18.4%, respectively among the preparations applied alone and that of Atonic with Masterblend - net income and rate of profitability of 30.4 and 13.0%, respectively among the combinations, were the most efficient. The stage of application reflected substantially on the values of economic indicators. The relatively high total produce and lower production costs under single treatment at budding determined a higher rate of profitability than that under treatment at budding and flowering and only at flowering, by 12.9 and 10.8%, respectively.
