Variability of Some Traits, Forming the Green Mass Productivity of Sudan Grass and Sorghum x Sudan Grass Hybrids

During 2008-2009 in the Agricultural Institute – Shumen was investigated the variability of the following traits: height, leaf number and panicle length in different sowing density. The study includes super elite origins of: Sudan Grass, Sweet Sorghum and their hybrids with Grain Sorghum MS-lines as well as the standard varieties Vercor, Super Sweet, Jantar. A tendency to higher values of height and leave number was established in the sparser sowings. At the same time the variation factors are higher in the thicker sowings. The average values and the variability parameters have proven differences for the different origins.
