In the period 2004-2007 at the Institute of Agriculture in Karnobat was conducted breeder genetics study of parental forms and their hybrids to obtain information on the genetic nature of the trait spike length in winters feed barley hybrids. The study was conducted in full diallel scheme. Four winters feed barley varieties from var. parallelum and two from var.pallidum were used as parent material. Annually for three years in the pitomnik of hybridization 30 diallel crosses was carried out. Additive-dominant relationships of the trait were analyzed by the ratio between the parameters d/a. In diallel combination was achieved increase of the spike length of hybrids compared to parental forms. Carriers of the spike length were parent forms from var. pallidum. The trait spike length was determined by the additive-dominant genetic system manifestations of partial to complete dominance and overdominance.
