The investigation was carried out during the period 2004-2006 in the trial field of the Maize Research Institute, Kneja. The trials with the common and high-lysine maize hybrids and lines are carried out under conditions without irrigation and density of growing 42 000 and 52 000 plants/ha. The results from the study shows, that the mutant gene Opaque-2 o2 does not affect essentially on the activities of the heterosis and degree of dominance in F1 for the number of the rows in the ear. The mean manifestation of the hypotetic heterosis at the common hybrids is 4.67%, and at the high-lysine ones is 4.11%. The values of the real heterosis both of the two groups hybrids are respectively -4.05 and -2.77. The inheritance of the number of the rows in the ear at the common hybrids and their high-lysine analogues is intermediate or with the participation of possitive dominance.
