An experiment was conducted under glass-house conditions to test the effects of four plants oils on the growth of tomato and population density of potato cyst nematode Globodera rostochiensis and root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita. All the tested formulations improved plant growth, and suppressed the nematode multiplication. Bare-root dip treatment with some plant oils, viz., neem oil, castor, soya oil and sesame oil showed significant inhibition of root-knot development caused by root-knot nematode and population density of cyst nematode on tomato. Neem oil (Azadirachta indica A. Juss.), and castor oil (Ricinus communis L.) were highly effective in reducing disease incidence. They reduced the nematode density from 50% to 79%.
