The study was carried out during the period of 2004-2006 in the Maize Research Institute – Kneja, some genetic properties of 8 inbred maize lines, in the system of diallel crosses, were estimated for protein content in the grain by graphic method of Hayman. The trails with the reciprocal hybrids of F1 and their parental components were carried out at two densities – 4200 and 5200 plants/da, without irrigation. It was established that the protein content in the grain, both at the lines and the hybrids, change depending on the conditions of growing. The inheritance of the protein accomplished at the incomplete dominance of the genes. With the biggest percentage of dominant genes was the line B-84 about 75%. The conditions of growing were not affected essentially on the genetic control of this character
