In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was presented a methodology for analysis of soil samples for determination of total content of nitrogen in soil. In course of the study the concentrated sulfuric acid was used as an extracting agent; also there was applied photometry and data processing analysis using a personal computer. In aim of the study was by means of substitution of denitration on the Kjeldahl distilling apparatus for photocolorimetric determination of its concentration made it possible to substantially simplify the realization of analysis and increase its accuracy and labour production. In course of the study there was presented a scale for calculation of total nitrogen content in soils. Weight percentage of nitrogen ammonia in the analyzed soil was determined with the help of a personal computer by means of calculation of dependence of the instrument indications (optical density of solutions) on concentration of the defined standard nitrogen solutions, described by the appropriate equations of regression.
