In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was realized a comparative analysis of new varieties of goat's rue (Galega orientalis L.) with different phenotypes by their morphological and economic traits. Research was realized on the trial field of selection and genetic laboratory of the Department of Breeding and Genetics of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy in 2008-2010 on sod-podzolic medium loamy soil, which underlie from the depth 0.7 m of moraine loam. According to the content of humus, the nutrients and acidity, it was quite suitable for cultivation of goat's rue. Humus content was 2.2%, the content of mobile phosphorus - 250 mg, and exchange potassium - 206 mg per 1 kg of soil. Soil acidity was on the level of pH in KCl 6.0. Soil indices were regulated with the application of phosphorus-potassium fertilizer and liming. In course of the research there was studied the characteristics of new variety samples of goat's rue of different phenotypes according to the duration of development phases, length of vegetation period, colouring of flowers, vegetation organs and seeds, as well as the content of dry matter, leaf mass and seed productivity. Comparative estimation of variety samples showed that they were different both in morphological and economically-useful traits. The best ones among them were the following: white-flower SEG-1, lilac-flower SEG-2, violet-flower SEG-8, rose-flower SEG-11 and creme-flower SEG-12, which contained higher amount of dry matter and were characterized by higher seed productivity.
