Autotrophic components of periphyton gathered from different types of substrate on stones and reed were analyzed in the conditions of mesotrophic lake Myastro in the Republic of Belarus. Spatial heterogeneity and dynamics of algae species composition of fouling and the share of autotrophic component in it were estimated. There was analyzed a balance of different algae parts of periphyton and content of dominate algae of periphyton on reed and on stones of lake Myastro. Research results showed that there were many differences in fouling. Part of autotrophic components in dry mass of reed periphyton was higher (4-15%) than on stones (1-4%). There were diatomic algae on reed (63-87%) and diatomic and blue-green algae on stones (23-83 and 14-70%, respectively). Bacillariophyta was the dominating algae on all experimental stations and Cyanophyta was the leader algae on stones. Periphyton on stones was like microphytobenthos.
