Social problems of the rural family in an Egyptian village

The most important findings of the study may are: -Lack of job opportunities is the top social problem facing rural families, followed by lack of social security problems of ownership contact with governmental agencies and the problem of education ,in that order. Husbands and wives report similar assessments of suffering from the seven problems of housing, housing environment , education , health safety, youth, and kinship Wives report greater suffering from the problems of income marketing , marital relations and socialization. Husbands report greater suffering from the seven problems of veterinary services, entertainment ,lack of jobs, ownership , services social security, and contact with government agencies. Factor analysis showed that problem suffering is structured along five distinct factors. The independent variables of age difference , duration of marriage, level of family dwelling , ownership of home appliances , size of farm land holding , and size of farm animal holding are selectively related to problem suffering. family size is totally not related to problem suffering.
