Crustaceans are a large group of economical aquatics , and marine shrimps in case of production (fisheries and aquaculture) applay specific role in production and economics. The history of Persian Gulf fishery returns to five decades ago, while duration of shrimp culture is a few more than a decade. Although the shrimp fishery faced fluctuations within various years , but applying of fisheries management, control the number of shrimp trawlers , and consideration of opening and closed season , caused standing crop of about 7000 tones annually. High investment by government and non government sectors incentive shrimp culture development at first half decade, but weakness of overall management , incidence of disease and global economic crisis , caused slowness of development and production during last years. 180000 ha of suitable lands recognized in Persian Gulf coast, but only substructure of 12000 ha is nearly constructed, and in favorite condition not more than 5000 ha of ponds have been under utilization, and the total production not increased 9000 tonnes. On the basis of various aquatic products, compilation of strategic plan in accordance of species group defined in fisheries sector. This report is looking the past and present condition, and the bottlenecks of shrimp industry, and proposes the projects on the basis of prospective development.
