Study of effect Biturin biological compound on striped stem borer

Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria commonly referred as B.t is most widely used at two form, toxic crystal and a mix of spores and crystal for control of insects. This research carried out in order to evaluate the effect of Biturin on striped stem borer , Chilo suppresslis . We carried out this research both in greenhouse and field under natural conditions in Rice Research Institute , Rasht during 2009. The experiment was conducted in a complete randomized design with two factors including: Dose and usage times with 3 replication. The field results showed that in vegetative stage of rice ,1and 1.5 litter per hectare with two to three application times of Biturin have the most effect on SSB and reduced Dead heart to 0.42 and 0.52 percent, respectively. In reproductive stage of rice , the highest effect was observed with 1.5 litter per hectare with 2 to 3 applying times .Infestation to white heads was reduced by 3.84 percent in comparison with control in rice field. The greenhouse results showed that 1.5 litter per hectare in 2 to 3 times of application had highest effect , in vegetative and reproduction stages of rice plant and reduced D.h and W.h by 2.08 and 3.84 percent, respectively, in comparison with control without spraying
