This experiment was conducted to study effect of pelleted and non pelleted diet on formation of urinary calculi in 60 Raeini kids (average body weight 16.1+ 0.37, 6 to7 months old) in a compeletly randomized design in a 2×2 factorial methods. Adjustment period was 15 d. Goats were housed individually for 174 days experiment period. Rations in two different physical forms were used that consist of control ration (low energy) and high energy diet as pelleted or mixed diets. These diets contain energy and crude protein levels of 2.3 Mcal ME, and 14.5% and 2.62 Mcal ME, and 15.94% respectively. The rate of energy and crude protein of these diets were of. Goats weighed once a month. Sampling of blood and urine was done each month to determine physical, chemical , and microscopic characteristic of urine along with measurment of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium elements in serum. Analysis of variance was done using SAS software to determine the difference between treatments. The results showed that only in 14 percent of kids fed high energy mixed diet urinary calculi observed and others exhibit no any clinical symptoms. kids fed on pelleted diets as compared with that of fed mixed diets had more performance and there were significant difference (P0.05). Finally, it was concluded that mineral, energy and protein imbalances in the diet and in junction with other factors probably contribute more for the initiation of calculi than does others. We can imply that pelleted diets were more effective than that of mixed.
