Systematic Study and Design an Instruction for Identification of Algae as Water Quality Indicators.

Algae with high diversity are very good indicators for different environmental factors. In this view, many of habitats related to species of diatoms so they are very important. Presence or absence of some algae taxa are as well as natural feedbacks for agricultural ecosystems which depends on water quality. The main list of habitats for indicator algae contains six groups as followings: 1. Polluted water algae, 2. Taste and odor algae, 3. Plankton and surface water algae, 4. Filter Clogging algae, 5. Algae growing reservoir wall and 6. Clean water algae. Objectives in these groups are diverse and referred to some ranks such as species and genera. In addition, some of algae are in one or more than one group. Thus, we have a reciprocal classification in this domain because the status of habitat may be defined by identification of algae. Also, data of indices refers to probability of presence for some algae. In this way, whole of evaluations for results based on objectives. In this study, data of habitats for 157 taxa/groups of microscopic and macroscopic algae which are cosmopolite based on scientific references are classified relating to one or more indices. Results exported as an instruction for nine groups/sets, 100 genera and 48 species of indicator algae related to seven universal indices with 35 specific items plus descriptions and some details. Respect to the main aim of this project, a software designed named "Indicator Algae" for this instruction with many capabilities/tools such as images, glossary and search engine attached to report. In addition, the most of findings published in scientific papers. There is no doubt that development and extension of this instruction would be very useful for biomonitoring/bioremediation of agricultural ecosystems, particularly.
