Apple scab (Venturia inaequalis) is the key parasitic fungus on apple. For the control of apple scab in the conventional orchards chemical fungicides are mainly used. In the organic farming there is a lack of the effective biological products. The biological products are needed not only for the organic farms but they are also suggested for the integrated fruit production. The objective of this study, conducted over three growing seasons (2008 – 2010), was to test the efficiency of the biological product trichodermin B-J containing T. harizanum and T. viride against apple scab. This product has been registered as a plant protection product for the fruit crops since 1996, but it has been tested only in vitro. During the trial, the biological product was compared with the untreated control and the Bordeaux mixture, which is a copper product registered also for the organic farming. After three years of research it was concluded that the biological product could be used during the primary apple scab season, but still it showed significantly lower efficiency in comparison with the Bordeaux mixture.
