The results of the studies revealed that nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium deficiencies had an effect on the growth, total height, number of branches, shape of tree, root system, fresh and dry weight of stem and root of the red and bird peppers. A low amount of magnesium affected the growth of the pepper. Sulfur deficiency had no effect on the growth of both red and bird peppers. Those grown with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium deficiencies had less of fruits and fresh and dry weights as compared with those grown in rich medium (control treatment). Calcium, magnesium and sulfur deficiencies had no effects on fruit production.
