In the present paper the method of flow injection analysis (FIA) was used to determine glucose; the method was combined with the use of an enzymic reactor containing immobilized glucose oxidase. Hydrogen peroxide, the product of enzymic reaction, is detected on the basis of molybdenum ion catalyzed reaction with iodide. The iodide produced in this way and starch show blue coloration with an absorption maximum of 585 nm. The calibration graph is linear in the range of 0.25 to 0.8 mmol/l glucose with the relative standard deviation of sr=1.53 for eight measurements and for glucose concentration of 0.51 mmol/l. The FIA method was used to determine glucose in sweets and biscuits. Accuracy, sensitivity and possibility of analyzing large series of samples within a relatively short time are advantages of this proposed method.
