A map has been developed which includes data on CaCO3 content and pH in soil profiles of Polish soils under cultivation. For the majority of the soils acidity was declining with depth of sampling and some siols (rendzinas, chernozems, typical brown soils, typical black earths) showed alkaline reaction throughout the profile.
