A method of growing mushroom in autoclavable polyethylene bags was applied for cultivation of Tricholoma crassum. Eight different combinations of natural products containing corn-cob meal as a major component were used as growing media. The combination of corn-cob meal: saw dust: corn meal, 15:4:1 (v:v) turned out to be the best in supporting maximum yields of basidiocarps. The appropriate amount of the medium in each bag was 500 g. Soil with pH values of 8.4 and 8.9 employed as casing material resulted in significantly faster outbreaks and higher yields of basidiocarps compared with the experiments without casing soil or cased with vermiculite.
