This introductory video training program for termite control technicians consists of 4 tapes. Tape 1 describes the subterranean termites' life cycle, social behavior, and colony and signs of a termite infestation in a structure. Tape 2 shows how to properly conduct a termite inspection and explains what tools are needed, what to look for, where to look and how to record findings. Tape 3 discusses pesticide label information, the three categories of termiticides, chlorinated hydrocarbons, organophosphates, and synthetic pyrethroids, effective means of creating a complete chemical barrier, preventing ground water contamination, pesticide hazards, protective clothing and equipment, safety precautions. Tape 4 covers the four termite control strategies including mechanical procedures and soil treatment, wall void and wood treatment, and application equipment.
