This paper introduces Chinese agricultural mechanization in 1991 and also introduces the strategic plan, measure and important items in Chinese agricultural mechanization in the future. In 1991 Chinese agricultural machinery is increasing continuously, but the rate of increase has shown a downward tendency. At the end of 1991, the total amount of fuel power generated in agricultural machinery reached 293 millions kw, which means an increase of 1.9% over the previous year. In the future China will develop agricultural mechanization and accomplish the mechanization in the important processes of agricultural production, especially in the coastal area of eastern China, in the suburbs of larger cities and main grain-production areas. Meanwhile, China will widely develop the new techniques in agricultural mechanization. It is forecasted that fuel power generated in agricultural machinery will amount to 380 millions kw in 1995 and 450 millions kw in 2000. The mechanization of crops production which is an important part of agricultural mechanization will be further developed. Especially mechanized sowing and harvest will be developed fast.
