1988
El Gazar T.M.
Lettuce plants of the cv. Balady were treated with complete fertilizer program included NPK levels of 100 and 150 kg fertilizer units per feddan at five ratios (1:1:1, 2:1:1, 2:2:1, 3:1:1 and 3:2:1). The experiments were conducted at the Experimental Station Farm of Agriculture College, Mansoura University, during the winter seasons of 1985/1986 and 1986/ 1987. The results indicated that the NPK level of 150 kg was more favourable than the other level tested concerning number of wrapper leaves/plant, weight of mid-ribs/ plant, stem length, leaf area/plant and total yield/ plot. The NPK ratio of 3:1:1 resulted in the highest number of wrapper leaves/plant, weight of midribs/plant, stem length, leaf area/plant and total yield and the differences were significant in both seasons. NPK level of 150 kg fertilizer units/feddan at the ratio of 3:1:1 resulted in the highest total yield with good quality.
