Pigs need suitable environment for normal life and for a good production. To assure it, we have to consider the norms. It should be the best, if the norms were derived from ethological investigations. Because in Slovenia we have not got enough of our own investigations in the field of ethology of domestic animals, the norms from foreign literature are given in this article.
