A number of pathogenic fungi causing black root of seedlings are transmitted with seed material of cabbage. The most virulent for cabbage seedlings were the fungi Phoma lingam and Alternaria brassicicola. In order to prevent the occurrence of black root, dressed seeds should be sown into previously prepared and protected seed-beds.
