In the present paper, theoretical studies on the ignition delay of a single fuel droplet in high pressure gaseous environments were carried out. In the theory, the ignition delay of a single fuel droplet was developed, which consisted of the evaporation of a droplet and ignition of homogeneous gas mixture, and ignition delay was calculated. Theoretical data were correlated with the following expression: Gamma = APB OC exp (D/T) Where P, T and O are pressure, temperature and oxygen concentration of ambient gas.
