Effects of acetylene concentrations on mung bean hypocotyl width and length, radicle length and the number of secondary roots were studied at the Central Laboratory and Green House Complex, Kasetsart University, Nakornprathom province. Results indicated that the average length of hypocotyls was the only character which had statistical difference. Treatment with 3,000 ppm. acetylene concentration tended to give the desired mung bean sprouts by having moderate hypocotyl length of 2.63 cm., hypocotyl width of 0.26 cm., the shortest radicle length (3.5 cm.) and small number of secondary roots.
