All soil treatments decreased phytoavailability of cadmium and their effects were generally greatest in case of sunflower. Under the experimental conditions calcium carbonate limited the cadmium phytoavailability to the most degree. FYM activity was weaker and zeolite had the last effect. If we assume cadmium uptake by test plants in control as 100, then this metal uptake in soil artifically polluted was 36 for CaCO3, 51 for FYM, 79 for straw, 74 for brown coal and 83 for zeolite. Respective values for soil with natural content of Cd were 33, 50, 60, 65 and 77.
