The population abundance of the leafhopper (Amrasca devastans Distant), was investigated on okra plants in kharif and rabi seasons. The pest was found more abundant in the kharif season, and maximum number of both the nymphs and adults occurred in July. In the rabi season, the leafhopper population was much lower as compared to that of the kharif season. The lower population in the rabi crop might be attributed to the cold weather conditions. The extent of damage of okra plants caused by A. devastans was 81-100% in the kharif season whereas 18-93% in the rabi season.
