Chromosomal karyotypes and its polymorphism of Equus przewalskii.

The chromosomal karyotype and its polymorphism of Equus przewalskii in Gansu were studied by microscopy. The results showed that the number of somatic chromosomes were 66, of which there were 32 pairs of autosome and 1 pair of sex chromosome. The autosomes were divided into three groups as mentacentric, submetacentric and telocentric chromosomes. The difference of the karyotypes between domestic horse (Equus caballus) and Equus przewalskii was that the domestic horse had one more pair of metacentric chromosome.
