Describes the physical and mechanical factors which govern the efficacy of spray machines used for fungicides application on coffee. For effective control of fungal diseases, the fungicide must be applied or deposited onto the target sites before disease infection. This is facilitated by having a machine which is capable of distributing the spray material onto the target. Spraying characteristics such as revolutions per minute, pressure, droplet spectra etc. have been evaluated in relation to the wheelbarrow power sprayer, MP60, Polifacto motorised knapsackmist blower and the PTP manually operated hydraulic knapsack sprayer. Gives and discusses the results.
