Laporan penanggulangan penyakit busuk pangkal batang pada tanaman lada di tingkat petani (OFR).
1992
The foot rot disease (Phytophthora capsici) on black pepper is the main issue in the pepper producing countries, because it has not been controlled perfectly yet. The international workshop on pepper diseases was held in Bandar Lampung in 3-5 December, 1991. About 120 persons attended that meeting. That meeting was very useful as a communication forum in controlling the diseases. Research Institute for Spice and Medicinal Crops proposed an integrated method of controlling foot rot disease. This would include the use of appropriate cultural practices, biological and chemical agents. The appropriate cultural practices are conctructing and repairing the drainage, fertilizing the plants at recommended dosage, pruning the lower branches, limited weeding and pruning the runner branches. Chemical agent used is fungicide, in this experiment we used Aliette 80 WP. Biological agents used are rice and corn debris. Until May 1992, from 4 locations used in this experiment the disease intensity was very low (0.21-4.14 percent) and the disease was not found yet at the other location. The integrated control was able to depress the disease approximately 75 percent while cultural practices depressed 47 percent and biological agents depressed 59 percent.
