Growth parameters such as LAI, SLA NAR, RGR and TDM accumulation at various growth stages in garlic raised from 3 different clove sizes showed highly significant variation. Large clove size always gave highest LAI and TDM accumulation throughout the whole ontogeny. The SLA of plants grown from the large cloves had a decreasing tendency, which was more pronounced from 42 to 112 DAP than that of the plants grown from medium and small size cloves. Both NAR and RGR had higher values in the populations of all the treatments at initial stages of crop growth. Plants from the large cloves were highly potential and capable of exploiting environmental resources to produce higher TDM, yield and H1 with the highest net profit.
