Practically all self-driven harvesting machines are nowadays equipped with hydrostatic steering. This means that larger machines can be built which do not require any addditional energy from the driver. Several system variations are offered by the hydraulic manufacturers. They have been already proved themselves in agricultural machines. In some of the harvesting precedures the steering can be automated. The driver can thus concentrate chiefly on the remaining tasks, so that the machine can be adjusted to the optimal operating value for the particular process in operation. An improvement in the quality of work simultaneously with an increase in operation efficiency is therefore possible.
