BAHASA: Pengembangan pembesaran udang galah di kolam-kolam air tawar yang beririgasi antara lain ditentukan oleh tersedianya pakan komersial yang bermutu dan berharga layak untuk petani yang bersangkutan. Pertumbuhan berat dan hasil panen udang galah di kolam-kolam air tawar yang mempunyai alkalinitas 21,7-27,6 ppm CaCO3 eq. dan kesadahan 24,0-28,0 ppm CaCO3 eq. menunjukkan tidak nyata berbeda antara yang diberi pakan pelet komersial (protein 30 persen) dan pelet UG 3377 (protein 26 persen). Berat dan hasil panen rata-rata masing-masing ialah 13,7 g dan 760 kg/ha (pelet komersial) serta 15,2 g dan 864 kg/ha (pelet UG 3377) sesudah 126 hari pemeliharaan. Padat penebaran yang digunakan ialah 7 ekor/m2 dan berat awal 4,4g. Terlihat suatu indikasi bahwa pakan buatan saja masih belum mampu mendukung pertumbuhan optimal udang galah di kolam-kolam dengan daya dukung dan kesalahan yang rendah.
Afficher plus [+] Moins [-]anglais. Successful commercial farming of freshwater prawn must involve supplementary feeding, and the formulated feed should always be available to the small farmer. In order to know the artificial feed effect on the growth and yield of freshwater prawn, two different formulated feeds of 30 percent and 26 percent crude protein were applied. The stocking rate was 7 juvenile of 4.4 g weight per square meter. After 126 days of rearing period the results revealed that the weight and yield average of the treatments were not significantly different (P=0.8151). The commercial feed (30 percent protein) gave the weight and yield average of 13.7 g and 760 kg per ha, respectively, while the other formulated feed gave the weight average of 15.2g and yield of 864 kg/ha. The carrying capacity and the total hardness of ponds ranged from 21.7 to 27.4 ppm CaCO3 eq. and 24.0 to 28.0 ppm CaCO3 eq. respectively. The value showed that the ponds carrying capacity was very low and the total hardness didn't support the optimal growth of the cultured prawn.
