In the Kranj forest-economy region the forest lie on the area of 68,295 ha, and bare forest surfaces on 247 ha. The following types of natural siters are present; the oak, fir, fir-beech, beech natural sites on carbonate and on acid base, the pine and spruce natural sites. The majority of these forests in this region is used in the forest production. The paper describes the productive capacities of these forests and the ways of managing. Some forests in this region are used for special purposes.
