1985
Cruz R.C.
Results showed that as sources of energy in broiler rations, food scraps (banana chips, kroepeck, biscuit and corn chips) were found to contain as much as 31.5% oil in kroepeck, 30.2% in banana chips and 29.2% in corn chips. The nitrogen free extract of food scraps is also high. There were no toxic effects observed on the use of food scraps even up to levels of 50% in the broiler rations. Among the four kinds of food scraps biscuit meal was found to be a better energy sources. On measures of profitability, the use of 50% biscuit meal in the ration gave the highest profit per individual chicken.
