The disposition of sulfamonomethoxine 20% solution was studied in buffalo following the intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous drug administration. Following intravenous administration of sulfamonomethoxine, plasma concentrations of the drug exceeded 5 mg% for 1 hour. Most of the drug was excreted from the body within 12 hours. No metabolates of sulfamonomethoxine was detected in plasma samples. The drug was completely absorbed by buffalo. The bioavailability were 38.98% and 29.04% following intramuscular and subcutaneous drug administration, respectively. The biphasic shape of the plasma disappearance curve suggested that a two compartment model would be used to described the pharmacokinetic behaviour of the drug in bufallo. The half life of elimination was 1.964 hours. Estimation of all rate constant were also obtained.
